Every time I read
the Times it is almost laughable how irrelevant this newspaper is becoming to the American conversation. They are still pushing a “mindless liberal
agenda “without making room for any serious discourse. Just once I would like to see these automatons embrace an opposing view. It is almost as if it is illegal,at the Times, to applaud old school family values.
There was a time when one could find important news in this paper not found elsewhere. The "Old Grey Lady" provided singular global coverage. Prior to the internet it opened the world to millions of readers. Sadly today,in response to an ever competitive landscape, it is still trumpeting a view that can only be appreciated in certain areas.Places with demographics only found in a few precincts on the Isle of Manhattan, and the like. It's crazy! I found more thoughtful and insightful coverage on the anniversary of Dr.King’s speech in the Daily News. Can you imagine that? It is only a matter of time before the Times either gets acquired by a new money mogul as a personal hobby, or vanishes altogether.

Yes, the paper is
still a bastion of proper syntax, usage and prose …however the content is trite,
self-serving and provincial. These folks need to wake up ...most of America is slowly being exposed to first rate education. On line
academics will eventually offer the same intellectual opportunities to the good citizens in Mississippi as it has to those on Lexington Avenue. What a refreshing turn of events for our country. The "world view" will be just that , not a warped, insular bizarre perspective emanating from an overcrowded weary metropolis.
No one really cares about the tripe in sections such as Sunday Style..blah,blah and more blah. What is with that ? Also you have got to love the "diagnosed disease of the week" in the Magazine. Why the obsession with health? Beyond the basic common sense of taking care of your body that we learned in parochial school, one should move on with their life. How about trying real spirituality,or at the least fishing ,and Bar B-Q(and not ugh... beef cheeks,I'm talking hot dogs and cheeseburgers) .The Times fails to grasp this. It makes their brand of journalism smarmy, self-righteous and downright hackneyed.Show this stuff to any "All American" teenager and they will literally wet their trousers ,or skirts.I frequently hear the phrase "take it from where it comes" ,whenever the Times is brought up.Please note, these teens will be running things soon.

Get with it ,this is a late tocsin for your journal .Everyone except your ever diminishing small circle of acolytes could care less about about your biased opinion. Start reporting the news like they do on Reuters, the BBC or even Bloomberg. Doctor, heal thyself!
